On June 10, we celebrated a most special day for our ladybug. Mary Burke was christened at St. Peter's and welcomed into the kingdom of God. Family and friends joined us from near and far, and it was just downright perfect. Amy and Gaines, Mary Burke's godparents, and Jimmy and I stood before our congregation and asked for everyone's help in raising her as a child of God. Goodness knows....we all can use a little help. During the actual christening, Mary Burke had a big smile on her face as Janice poured the water over her head (I think she thought that she was getting her hair done for the second time that day!). She seemed to enjoy every minute of being held and paraded through the congregation....there is certainly a lot of love filling that church. And while the celebration was wonderful, the real work begins. Today's world brings so many challenges....some of them created by us, some of them created for us, and some of them just seemingly out of the blue. It seemed so different when it was just me or Jimmy having to face these but now that we have our angel to look out for, it just takes it to a new level. Luckily, we have faith and you to count on to help us through! Enjoy the pictures!
